Investment Cooperation Guide — Kazakhstan (2026 Edition) | Published by AERI

Introduction

Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia and a key node on the Silk Road Economic Belt. AERI's research reveals that Kazakhstan, with its vast natural resources, strategic location bordering China and Russia, and proactive economic diversification under the "Kazakhstan 2050" strategy, offers significant investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises.

In 2024, Kazakhstan's GDP reached approximately USD 290 billion, with growth of 5.1%. Population approximately 20 million. China-Kazakhstan bilateral trade reached USD 41 billion in 2024. Kazakhstan is the first country to propose and support the Silk Road Economic Belt.

AERI believes Kazakhstan's core investment value lies in its vast energy and mineral resources, strategic location as a gateway between China and Europe, and the Khorgos-Eastern Gate Special Economic Zone providing unique cross-border trade advantages.
