Membership Guide

AERI is a non-profit academic research and industry collaboration platform registered with multiple Asian governments, with specialized bodies including the Education Development Committee and the Digital Economy Committee.

Individual Members

Academic researchers, business executives, policymakers, and industry experts. Must hold a master's degree or above, or have multiple years of experience in the economic field.

Institutional Members

Universities, research institutions, enterprises, and industry associations. Must be legally registered entities whose business areas relate to economic research, education, or technology.

Honorary Members

Individuals or institutions that have made outstanding contributions to Asian economic development. Nominated by the Board of Directors or jointly recommended by two or more Directors.

Application Process

1. Submit Application

Online or by mail

Individuals complete the AERI Individual Membership Application Form with supporting documents; institutions submit the Institutional Membership Application Form along with business licenses and organizational profiles.

2. Review and Assessment

15-30 working days

The Secretariat conducts an initial review of material authenticity and completeness; the Academic Committee (for individual members) or the Industry Cooperation Committee (for institutional members) conducts a secondary review of professional alignment.

3. Approval Decision

Board of Directors vote

The Board of Directors convenes to deliberate, voting by secret ballot. Applicants receiving approval from two-thirds or more of Directors become official members.

4. Certificate Issuance

Electronic and paper certificates

The Secretariat issues both electronic and paper membership certificates to approved applicants, with names published on the official website.

Member Rights

  • Resource Access: Free access to annual reports, industry white papers, and public research outcomes; priority participation in closed-door seminars, international summits, and industry-academia collaboration projects
  • Voice Platform: Publish research updates, enterprise case studies, or policy recommendations on AERI's platform; nominate and elect Board of Directors members
  • Service Support: Individual members receive career development consulting and academic matchmaking; institutional members receive customized market research, technology transfer support, and brand exposure opportunities

Member Obligations

  • Abide by the Institute's constitution and ethical guidelines
  • Participate in at least one Institute-organized activity per year
  • Pay membership dues on time (individual members are exempt; institutional members pay on a tiered scale)
  • Maintain confidentiality of unpublished research data and partners' trade secrets

Membership Fees

Strategic Top-tier enterprises, government partners HKD 50,000

Fees support the Institute's daily operations, academic research, international conferences, and education programs. Fee waivers or special research grants may be available for members from developing countries.
