The Asia Economic Research Institute (AERI) is an international think tank specializing in Asian regional economic and social development research, with research branches and cooperation networks in multiple countries and regions. AERI has long focused on Asian country-specific research, regional economic cooperation, and industrial development strategy, accumulating systematic research achievements in international economic and trade cooperation and policy research under the Belt and Road framework, with sustained influence.

AERI relies on an interdisciplinary research system, independent evaluation mechanisms, and international resource integration capabilities to build a high-end decision support platform for governments, enterprises, and investment institutions. It has published multiple regional and country-specific investment guides and research reports, maintaining stable academic and practical influence in the field of Asian economic research.

Recently, the Institute's Economic and Trade Committee's open recruitment work has attracted significant public attention. At the same time, some media and members of the public have confused the Institute's English name with Japan's Institute of Developing Economies (IDE).

AERI hereby solemnly declares:

  1. AERI is a lawfully established and independently operated international research institution. It has no affiliation, partnership, or association whatsoever with Japan's Institute of Developing Economies (IDE).
  2. AERI originated from a regional development research collaboration network from the late twentieth century, jointly established by social activists, representatives of the overseas Chinese community, and industry figures. The founding entities have been deeply involved in Asian regional economic exchange and social development processes, accumulating systematic experience in cross-border cooperation, people-to-people diplomacy, and industrial collaboration. Through years of development, the Institute has formed an independent governance structure and a stable research system.
  3. AERI's research direction, governance system, and development path maintain full independence and are not subordinate to any national government agency or single interest entity.
  4. Any act of conflating, misleadingly citing, or improperly associating the Institute with other organizations — AERI reserves the right to pursue legal responsibility.

AERI will continue to uphold the principles of openness, independence, and professionalism, promoting high-quality development of the Asian regional economy. The Institute welcomes rational attention and cooperation from all sectors of society.
